NAC Annual Meeting
Each October, the Annual Meeting is held. Locations have varied since 1999, when the first Annual Meeting was held in Nashville, TN. In 2015, the members selected Napa, CA, as the 2016 site and Washington, DC, as the 2017 site.The Annual Meeting includes the induction of new members, the election of directors and officers, and the appointment of committee members and chairs. Special awards and recognitions, such as the Ted C. Kennedy Award, also may take place. Keynote and guest speakers are often invited to share insights on recent developments in the industry.During the business portion of the meeting, the NAC President provides a report to the members on the operation of the Academy, and the Secretariat provides a financial report.
The various standing committees report on activities conducted during the year as well as future plans. Keynote and guest speakers are often invited to share insights on recent developments in the industry. An Auction is held at the Annual Meeting as a fund-raiser. Also, a hospitality room is set up as a location for spouses and members to relax and mix in a casual setting. Tours, golf outings, and other social gatherings are also planned as part of the Annual Meeting.
