Craig Covil
Craig Covil is senior construction industry advisor with more than 38 years of international and North American experience in delivering major civil, transportation, and building infrastructure. He has led multidisciplinary teams on award-winning landmark projects including the $1.4 billion Fulton Street Station, and the $4.5 billion Second Avenue Subway in New York City. A former Managing Director for P3 Developer; ASTM (North America) and Chief Development Officer for General Contractor Halmar International, a principal at global engineering firm Arup, a senior manager at Hong Kong Airport Authority and SME advisor to NFP (part of Aon) Global Construction Risk practice. Craig has overseen project origination and delivery for large-scale Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (P3) initiatives across the US, UK, Hong Kong, Australia, and more. His expertise spans tunnels, airports, highways, land reclamation, and transit infrastructure, with a specialty in site preparation, foundations, and underground structures. A Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he also chairs a Zambian-based charity for orphans and vulnerable children – American Friends of Cecily’s Fund. A Professional Engineer, a Chartered Engineer, and Fellow of multiple global institutions— including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), and Engineers Australia (IEAust)—Craig also holds credentials from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). He is the currently President of DBIA’s New York City Region. He is an LP investor and advisor in a California-based Venture Capital firm focused on the global construction market. A graduate of the University of Surrey and Imperial College London, he is a frequent lecturer and advisor known for fostering innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence across the construction industry and throughout the project lifecycle.
