Diane Berry Hays
Diane Berry Hays is a Lecturer at the University of Texas in San Antonio and a nationally respected educator, architect, and design leader whose career spans private practice, public service, and academia. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), she has mentored thousands of students while championing inclusive, community-responsive design. Her critical role in attaining accreditation for both architecture and interior design programs and later, to pioneer a designbuild curriculum, processes and risk management set the standard for the University of Texas System and fostered collaboration between all disciplines. Diane attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received her bachelor’s degree in interior design and her master’s degree in architecture. She has served on numerous advisory boards supporting historic preservation and architectural education, and her impact is felt through generations of design professionals she has guided. Known for her thoughtful leadership, civic engagement, and deep commitment to elevating others, she continues to influence the built environment and the future of the profession.
