Gerbrecht

James E. (Jamie) Gerbrecht is Executive Director of the Construction Industry Institute (CII), where he leads efforts to advance construction performance through academic-industry collaboration. A retired ExxonMobil executive with over 40 years of global experience in project execution, environmental compliance, and construction innovation, Jamie is a pioneer in Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and has played a central role in promoting best practices across the industry. At ExxonMobil, he held leadership positions in reservoir engineering, facilities and civil engineering, environmental and regulatory affairs, and construction site management. Prior to joining the CII staff, Jamie served on CII’s Board of Advisors, multiple research teams, the Downstream and Chemicals Committee, and as Vice Chair of the AWP Community for Business Advancement. He has also contributed to AWP + Lean integration and served as a Best Practices Course instructor. A recipient of the CII Distinguished Service Award and the AWP Global Implementation Leadership Award, Jamie is also active in civic life as a church music volunteer and youth mentor. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Louisiana.
