Burt

Richard Burt is a McWhorter Endowed Chair and Head of the McWhorter School of Building Science at Auburn University. A leader in construction education, Dr. Burt has pioneered experiential learning models that integrate community service, safety certification, and global study into core curricula. He was an integral leader in moving building science education programs nationwide to performancebased standards through the American Council of Construction Educators. He previously served as a professor at Texas A&M University and is a Fellow of the Associated Schools of Construction. His leadership has earned national recognition, including an AGC in the Community Award, and over $1 million in federal support for preservation and education projects. Burt’s contributions to service-learning, historic preservation, and construction education reflect his lasting impact on the profession.
