Wayne Capolupo is Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of SPS New England, Inc. Wayne earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, and Master of Science in Energy Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1982. Wayne’s career began doing specialty contracting work at nuclear power generating stations owned by public electric utilities. In 1984, Wayne co-founded SPS New England, Inc. with several family members. They began performing concrete repairs on retaining walls, foundations and small dams, which ultimately led to a focus on bridge rehabilitation and construction, with rapid growth throughout New England. Wayne now has over 40 years of experience in heavy highway construction, focusing on bridges, tunnels and transit. At the end of 2022, SPS became 100% employee-owned motivated by Wayne and his family’s unwavering commitment to their employees and shared vision for the company’s continued growth. Today, SPS has become one of the leading heavy highway construction companies in New England with over 700 employees who proudly wear the SPS colors. Wayne is a longtime advocate for innovation and workforce development. He serves on several civic and industry boards and has been honored for his contributions to regional economic growth and public service. His career is defined by a steadfast commitment to construction safety, mentorship, community involvement and giving back to those less fortunate.
