Boyd Worsham
Boyd Worsham is the President and CEO of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Boyd’s career in the construction industry has spanned more than four decades beginning as a carpentry apprentice, rising to executive levels, and now leading the nation’s top provider of construction education. Worsham came to NCCER from the Haskell Company, a leader in design-build project delivery, where he was the vice president of construction support. During his 38-year tenure, he was involved in major construction projects throughout North America.
His passion for construction education is rooted in his personal experience in high school where his carpentry instructor helped him see the career opportunities he could have as a result of learning a trade. He carried this torch during his career by becoming a governor appointee for five years to the Florida State Apprenticeship Advisory Council where he made an impact on workforce development and education strategies around work-based learning. His focus on education continued when he served as the technical committee chair for the SkillsUSA National Carpentry competition for ten years helping to highlight how relevant training in CTE programs can meet the needs of the nation’s workforce.
His personal story and commitment to construction education led him to NCCER where he served on the Board of Trustees prior to his current role of leading the organization. Boyd believes there is no better way to contribute to our industry than by helping others improve their lives through construction education.
Boyd received his MBA from Jacksonville University. He has two children.
