Wolosick

John Wolosick, after graduating with a bachelor's and master's degrees in civil/geotechnical engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana and working for about 7 years in consulting engineering, John made the transition to working in design/build construction.  He has held positions in design, marketing and branch management for Nicholson, Hayward Baker (a Keller Company) and now Keller North America.  He specializes in Geotechnical and Geo-Structural engineering.
 
From his home base in Atlanta, he has worked on projects all over the US and Hawaii and in South America, Central America, many Caribbean Islands, Australia, SE Asia, Canada, the UK, Poland, France and Germany.  He has more than 45 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and contracting and is the author of more than 35 technical papers.  His papers mainly discuss design and construction related topics, including many case histories of micropiles and deep foundations, underpinning, earth retention and landslide repair.  John is a frequent guest speaker at industry events.  He has made design and construction presentations in more than 35 states including keynote and invited lectures as well as presenting papers at conferences and at various ASCE Sections as well as many universities.  He was the inaugural DFI Traveling Lecturer in 2018-2019 and delivered the Lizzi Lecture in 2017 and the Osterberg Lecture in 2024. John was the chair of the Georgia ASCE/Geo-Institute Geotechnical Committee from 2003-2004.  He was also President of the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) from 2015-2016. 
 
John has received several awards from the American Society of Civil Engineers/Geo-Institute including the 2008 Martin S. Kapp award, the 2024 Harry Schnabel, Jr. award and the 2025 Ralph B. Peck award.
 
He has three children and four grandchildren.
