Miguel Galarza
Miguel Galarza is the founder and president of Yerba Buena Engineering & Construction, Inc., a general contractor specializing in work for federal, state, and local government agencies. His career reflects more than 47 years in construction and 33 years in executive leadership, progressing from field laborer and journeyman carpenter to the founder of multiple successful enterprises supporting public-sector infrastructure delivery, contractor development, and national capacity-building.
Miguel received his B.S. in Construction Management from Everglades University and his M.S. in Construction Management from Louisiana State University. A trusted policy and regulatory leader, he has served as the chair of the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) currently Chair emeritus, the chair of the San Francisco Local Business Enterprise Advisory Committee, the Chair of the Coalition for Economic Equality, and the previous chair of the AGC of America Small Business Committee and current Vice Chair of the Federal Heavy Civil Division at AGC of America.
Miguel has received numerous honors, including the SBA Minority Small Businessperson of the Year, AGC of America Diverse Business of the Year, California Hispanic Chamber Businessman of the Year, several AGC project excellence awards, and multiyear recognition among the Inner City 100 fastest-growing firms.
He is married to Gena and they have one daughter, Bianca.
